Practicality and Running Costs

There'll be more than enough room for five adults to ride comfortably within the XC60, with plenty of head and legroom throughout. You can also fit a couple of child seats to the ISOFIX mounting points in the rear, but the rear doors don't open as wide as some rivals, which can make life harder when ensuring the kids are buckled up.

You will get plenty of cubby holes and storage compartments for their toys however, as well as a large 483-litre boot space for the family's luggage (slightly less if opting for a PHEV). Folding the rear seats is also easily done, giving more room to play with when loading larger bits of luggage.

SUVs often have higher running costs than smaller family cars, and this is reflected in the XC60's insurance, ranging from groups 31 to 43 (out of 50) dependent upon specification. Low cost servicing can be taken out at any Evans Halshaw dealership.

Interior, Technology and Safety

Step inside the cabin and you'll be greeted by an interior that's built to the highest of standards. Various premium materials have been used to give a plush feel, whilst still being robust enough to deal with the scuffs of everyday life.

A large touchscreen system is the centrepiece of a very well laid out dashboard that's easy to use. A lack of physical knobs and buttons does mean you have to occasionally take your eyes off the road to change any settings.

You'll have very few complaints when it comes to the standard equipment too. As well as the large touchscreen, you'll get built-in Google with voice control, cruise control and automatic LED headlights as standard.

Is the Volvo XC60 right for me?
