Engines and Driving Experience
During its lifetime, the Mito has undergone a couple of facelifts and updates, which means various engines have come and gone. The most common are:
Petrol
- 0.9-litre Twinair, 104bhp: 0 to 62mph in 11.4 seconds, up to 67.2mpg combined.
- 1.4-litre Multiair, 138bhp: 0 to 62mph in 8.1 seconds, up to 52.3mpg combined.
Diesel
- 1.3-litre, 94bhp: 0 to 62mph in 12.5 seconds, up to 83.1 mpg.
Other engine variants can be found on the used car market, including the higher-powered 1.4-litre Multiair petrol that can go from 0 to 62mph in as little as 7.3 seconds. Automatic and manual gearboxes can also be found. Larger bumps and cracks in the road can cause discomfort, but the Mito is suitable for nipping around town.
Practicality and Running Costs
As you'd probably expect, the Mito isn't the most practical of vehicles, being a supermini. However, there's enough head and legroom for driver and front passenger to be fairly comfortable.
Coming exclusively in a 3-door setup, passengers will have to clamber into the rear. But once there, the average adult will be content on short journeys - taller ones may struggle.
The Mito's boot is well-sized, offering 270 litres in its standard setup. Folding down the rear bench sees this space increase significantly, giving you a fairly versatile area to transport luggage. However, it does have a high load lip, which can make things more difficult when lifting heavier bits of luggage.

Interior, Technology and Safety
The interior design mirrors the exterior's eye-catching styling thanks to round shapes placed across the dashboard. However, overall quality may not live up to your expectations of what an Alfa Romeo should offer.
Entry-level specifications get features such as a Uconnect 5-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system as well as a leather steering wheel. Higher specification used examples can unlock further bits of kit such as cruise control, leather seats and sat nav.
