French car manufacturer Peugeot has just launched an all-new 3008 SUV, replacing the outgoing model released back in 2009.
The new model is far more handsome than its predecessor. The outgoing model was more MPV than SUV, whilst the new model is a razor-sharp, sleek, stylish SUV with bold looks and a raised stance. Angular, more distinctive body panels give the car a more striking look, with gloss black detailing and crisp L.E.D lighting being used to further enhance the cars appearance. The new 3008 is built on Peugeot's EMP2 platform, which will lead the way for a further selection of all-new Peugeot vehicles in the future.
The new model has been upgraded in every area and boasts an impressively luxurious interior to match its much more handsome exterior. The updated interior is filled with eye-catching futuristic displays, including a 12.3-inch head-up digital instrument panel, as well as an 8-inch touch screen. The interior is a nice place to be, with the driver cocooned perfectly in the driving seat, surrounded by a wash of quality feeling materials and clean, crisp displays.
Peugeot has been exceptionally generous with the standard specification on the new 3008. The entry level 'Active' features cruise control, electric heated door mirrors, multi-function steering wheel, DAB radio, MP3 and USB compatibility, Apple CarPlay, smartphone MirrorLink, parking-sensors, automatic headlights and wipers, lane-departure warning and 17-inch alloy wheels. The model range has a further 3 spec levels including the 'Allure', the 'GT Line' and range-topping 'GT' which all feature enhanced specification.
Peugeot's PureTech engine technology is used throughout the engine range on the 3008. PureTech engine technology has won various awards and compliments the various petrol and diesel engines available for the 3008. The entry level model uses a turbocharged 130bhp 1.2-litre, whilst the range topping GT uses a 180bhp 2.0-litre diesel unit. Both these engines, and all engines in the range are beautifully efficient with between 47-71mpg achievable depending on spec.
