Hyundai have an established position as providers of great value high quality cars and SUVs to markets all over the globe. Following the great response to their existing range, Hyundai have developed the all-new Kona.

Entering the fray with their own take on the Crossover concept, Hyundai have developed a truly versatile vehicle which bridges the gap between the Ioniq and i40 hatchbacks and the SUV models the Tucson and the larger Santa Fe.

Exterior

While Hyundai Kona represents a new design direction for the company, under the bonnet the same dependable engineering ticks over inconspicuously. Whereas the exterior, despite its family-likeness has a European familiarity about it.

The now-familiar external features which make the B-SUV model stand out, such as plastic cladding on wheel arches and roof rails (not available on S Trim) give the Kona that unmistakeable rugged Crossover look. With a sharper design approach, the slimmed-down Daytime Running Lights also incorporate the indicator, and their sharp design is imposing and immediately striking. A black hexagonal mesh grille and headlamps/fog lamps finish the overall effect. The plastic cladding is black to match the roof and gives an eye-catching two-tone effect. The palette itself is vibrant with inspiring shades such as Pulse Red, Tangerine Comet and Acid Yellow.

Dependent on the trim level, alloy wheels range from 16” to 18” with body-coloured bumpers, door handles and door mirrors fitted as standard. A rear spoiler with integrated LED brake light completes the rear aspect.

The dashboard is unfussy, with most functions operated using the LCD TFT touch screen, this varies in size from 5”to 7” dependent upon trim level. Sitting at the centre of the dashboard, the touchscreen dominates the landscape. Subtle references to the exterior tones are made in the piping on the cloth seats and around the gearstick and in a neat oval surrounding the dashboard controls.

The driver’s seat is height adjustable with rear seats splitting 60/40. Air conditioning and air vents for passengers in the rear are supplied as standard.
