Welcome to our review of the Kia Sportage, shown in our video review in high-spec KX-3 Nav trim. The Sportage is actually Kia's best-selling model here in the UK, and with the amount of specification on offer it's easy to see why.
Standard features on the exterior of this model include stylish 18" alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, Xenon headlights and a retractable panoramic sunroof.
Under the bonnet of this car you'll find a 2-litre CRDi turbo-diesel engine that produces 134 brake horse power and 236 pound-feet of torque. It acheives respectable fuel economy of 47 miles per gallon on the combined cycle, while emitting 156 grams per kilometre of CO2. It also has a maximum braked towing capacity of 2,000 kg.
Other engines in the range include the 1.7-litre CRDi Turbodiesel, which offers an impressive economy of 54.4 mpg, and 114 bhp. Petrol engines include a 1.6-litre unit which achieves 41.5mpg and a 0-60 time of 10.7 seconds.
Inside the Sportage you'll find a stylish and spacious cabin, with plenty of features to make driving easier and more comfortable. This includes a 7" touchscreen satellite navigation system, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, steering-wheel audio controls, cruise control, all-round electric windows and electric mirrors. Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition and audio streaming is also standard across the range.
The rear seats are very spacious, with plenty of head and knee room for passengers. Further enhancing the sense of space is the almost completely flat floor which means that the middle seat has capable leg room. It's a safe car too, with traction control, stability control, hill start assist and a raft of airbags helping it to achieve a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
At the back of the Sportage you'll find a massive 564-litre boot, which is plenty big enough for several suitcases or a flat-pack bookcase. The flat loading lip makes loading and unloading the boot an absolute breeze, and the rear seats can be folded easily by pulling the toggles on the backs of the seats, further extending the boot capacity to 1353 litres.
