This is the new 2015 Ford Mondeo Estate. It's bigger, more practical, more refined and better equipped than ever before.

This is a totally new car, not just a facelift, and the new shape for the Mondeo is defined by the elegant and sporty roofline, which flows into the lean side profile and down to the sophisticated front end, which incorporates Ford's hallmark trapezoidal front grille.

On the outside, every version of the Mondeo comes with alloy wheels, Chrome Roof Rails, Ford EasyFuel and MyKey, chrome trim on the front grille and LED taillights. The Zetec model adds front fog lamps, body coloured bumper mouldings, power folding door mirrors and global window closing, while the Titanium models feature upgraded 17" alloy wheels, automatic headlights and rain sensing windscreen wipers. Optional extras include a panoramic sunroof, rear privacy glass and a sports body styling kit.

2015 Ford Mondeo Zetec Estate Review

Safety

The New Mondeo was recently awarded 5-stars for driver safety in Euro NCAP crash tests. This is thanks to the sophisticated production methods that make the car stronger and safer. 9 airbags will inflate to protect occupants in the event of a collision, and other safety tech includes rear ISOFIX child seat attachments, ESP and a Thatcham category 1 alarm.

Optional Safety equipment includes for the first time inflatable rear seat belts and Active City Stop with pedestrian detection, which is able to automatically apply the brakes if a collision is detected - even with a pedestrian walking in the road.

Interior

Inside the Mondeo, the driver-focused wrap-around dashboard, soft touch instrument panel and digital analogue instrument panel really give the car a distinctly upmarket feel.

The innovative Ford SYNC-2 multimedia system is standard across the range, as are cruise control, dual zone climate control, electric front windows and D-A-B digital radio. Zetec models add electric rear windows and a quick-clear heated front windscreen, while Titanium spec cars include Sports Seats, a Ford Power starter Button and Satellite Navigation.

Titanium models also feature A Traffic sign recognition system that can read road signs to let you know what the speed limit is, and a lane keeping aid that will prevent you from unintentionally straying out of your lane on the motorway.  The optional Active Park Assist feature will park the car for you.

Practicality

The boot capacity is a useful 525 litres, and can swallow a pram or golf bag quite easily. The 60:40 rear seats fold flat into floor that triples the load space to 1,630-litres, and a tonneau cover

From Zetec models upwards, a nifty rear seat ski hatch is included, into which you can insert a pair of skis for those trips to The Alps.

If you'd like to upgrade your Mondeo Still further, the Titanium X Pack adds Dynamic LED Headlamps, electric and heated leather front seats, keyless entry and rear privacy glass.
